Club member benefits

As a member of the RMHP Running Club, you’ll be able to work toward your fitness or running goals in the company of a supportive community of runners of all ages and abilities. You’ll also get superior coaching and access to Brown’s track facilities.

Rhode Runner store offers a 10% discount to all members of the RMHPRC.

Additional benefits include a subgroup of members who focus on trail running and another who focus on triathlon training.

Upon request, the coaching staff provides individualized training programs in preparation for upcoming races.

Experienced Coaching

Our highly experienced coaches provide expert guidance to keep you on track no matter what your goals are. They offer frank and friendly advice, as well as tips for staying injury-free. (There is no guarantee that you won’t get an occasional ribbing, but you can deliver some right back.)

Structured Practices and Workouts

We run several times during the week, including stretching and fitness exercises, speed and endurance workouts, weekend group runs/walks, and training for specific events. We break into groups by goal and ability, so the distance runners training for a marathon aren’t running sprints with the <6-minute milers training for an indoor mile.

Our coaches put together structured workouts each week with specific goals in mind. In general, Monday workouts are for making you faster; Wednesdays are for endurance. They also offer Tuesday tempo runs to help maintain an even pace for longer runs, as well as Saturday group runs at various routes and distances.

A Great Community

At the RMHP Running Club, you’ll meet great people, share in a sense of camaraderie, and gain motivation and support. You’ll also have the opportunity to work out in the Brown stadium and to participate in great events like the Women’s 5K Classic.

Opportunities to Help the Ronald McDonald House

As a club member, you’ll have many opportunities to aid in the mission of the Ronald McDonald House of Providence, which provides support for the families of children who have been hospitalized. Helping the Ronald McDonald House is part of our own mission, so we make it easy for members to get involved. The House is also actively seeking volunteers to help out at the House in Providence and in the Family Room at Hasbro Children’s Hospital.
